Disclaimer

This Disclaimer applies to Starclaim (the “Service”) and supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Entertainment / novelty only

Starclaim is a free interactive entertainment product. Claiming, naming, or “owning” a star, system, or galaxy in Starclaim is a virtual, in-app experience for fun. It does not give you any real, legal, scientific, or officially recognized right to, or ownership of, any actual celestial body.

Optional purchases, no cash value, not gambling

Starclaim is free to play, and no purchase is required. The in-game currency (“Stardust”) and any territory, titles, or names you acquire are virtual items with no monetary value. They cannot be sold, cashed out, or redeemed for anything of value outside the game, and Stardust cannot be purchased as currency. Stardust is not money, credit, a deposit, a security, or a prize, and the game is not a contest, lottery, or wager.

Starclaim does offer an optional paid “Supporter Boost” — a one-time purchase that temporarily raises your Stardust production, exactly like the boost you can get for free by turning on ads. It does not buy Stardust, territory, or any item that can be cashed out, and it grants no advantage beyond that temporary, free-elsewhere boost. Because nothing of value can be won or withdrawn and outcomes are not purchased, Starclaim is not gambling. See Section 7 of the Terms for purchase and refund details.

No official recognition

Names you assign have no recognition by the International Astronomical Union (the only body that formally names celestial objects), any government, or any scientific institution. Starclaim is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any space agency or astronomical organization. The universe shown in Starclaim is procedurally generated and fictional; it does not represent the real cosmos, and any resemblance to real objects, names, or places is coincidental.

It is competitive — territory can change hands

Starclaim is a competitive game played on a shared map. Territory you hold may be claimed or contested by other players, and the universe may be reset, rebalanced, wiped, or discontinued at any time. Because the game is free and Stardust has no cash value, losing virtual territory carries no monetary loss.

Progress is not guaranteed

We may change mechanics, prices (in Stardust), availability, or the game itself at any time, and we do not guarantee that saved progress will be preserved. Play for enjoyment, not for any expected return.
